The word "deacon" means servant. Every follower of Jesus is called to serve and love others as the hands and feet of Jesus. In 1 Timothy 3 the Apostle Paul calls for the office of a deacon in the local churches. Pleasant View has been blessed with godly men who have graciously accepted the role of deacon in our fellowship. Acts 6:3 says, "Choose out from among you  seven men of good reputation, full of the Spirit and of wisdom, whom we will appoint to this duty (of serving). But we (the apostles) will devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the word."  We are thankful for the loving, caring, servant-hearts of these men.
